Law, a former print journalist, served as a state and federal prosecutor, criminal defense attorney for the indigent, and Texas criminal court judge. Although she still serves as a visiting judge, Law has authored five books, appeared on CSpan2/BOOK TV, and is featured at major national book festivals. Her nonfiction book Yield: A Judge's Fir$t-Year Diary, was a finalist for a major Texas book award presented at the Texas Book Festival. The Texas Bar selected her children's book Capitol Cat & Watch Dog Unite Lady Freedoms, for the statewide Law-Related Education Program for Texas teachers.
